Press Coverage

The Schindler Award for Architecture "Access for All" has attracted significant media attention in Europe, and news of the 2005/06 Award appeared in the press as far away as South Korea and the USA. In total, around 100 print and online publications reported on the last Award.
By making "Access for All" the primary task of the competition, Schindler hopes to encourage future architects to create a better-designed world in which well-considered architectural design and intelligent elevator technology overcome remaining barriers.
Media coverage is key to improving awareness and, based on the response to the 2005/06 Award, the issue of access is one with widespread resonance. Most of the coverage was in architectural journals and magazines, but the Award attracted interest from the mainstream media as well. Geographically coverage was concentrated in western Europe – where the Award has been established longest – but it was also picked up in countries such as Poland and Romania.
