1_Additional Working Materials

Is it possible to obtain a "Schwarzplan" of the site and the neighbourhood?
Unfortunately, a "Schwarzplan" of the site is not available.

Is there any way to retrieve a larger morphologic map of the surrounding area of the competition site?
You can try the website of the urban planning office of Berlin:
http://www.stadtentwicklung.berlin.de/

Is it possible to get demographic information for the surrounding area of the site? Also, is there information about visitor numbers etc. for the site?
Unfortunately, it was not possible to obtain such information due to the complexity of the local administration. The proprietors / managers of the neighbouring sport facilities also do not have this information.

We are looking for a situation plan of the entire Olympia Park and the surrounding neighbourhood with height lines.
All working material that is available through the Schindler Award organization is accessible on the Schindler Award website. The perimeter of the competition site is represented in the situation plan, and measures approximately 840m x 980m.
There is also a 3D-inner city CAD file, which covers a wider area of approximately 2,900m x 3,600m. The original 3D-model from which this data was taken (see also http://www.stadtentwicklung.berlin.de/planen/stadtmodelle/de/innenstadtplaene/3d/index.shtml) extends no further to the west than what is published on our website.
We face limitations on the size of files – the one in question is 151 MB! Unfortunately, the local authorities in Berlin are not in a position to provide information other than what is already available.

In regards to cap. 6.3 Traffic (rough master plan layout) from the file p_2_task.pdf, is it possible to provide us with a circulation plan (car direction for the site area)?
No such plan exists. All the traffic is two-way.

2_Content

Is there a difference between the buildings/areas marked in green and those in red (moved and replaced)?
Yes, buildings are indicated in red (indoor areas), while outdoor areas (including non-permanent structures) are indicated in green.

Do the level lines (ex: 11 level line 1m layer) represent the actual topography of the site (Document w_2_1_1_situation_plan_v_090926)?
Yes, the level lines represent the actual terrain, even though the outline of the buildings is interpolated.
