Article 17: Prizes awarded to the winners

The grand jury will nominate ten projects, from which the winners will be selected. All nominees along with the representatives of the nominated universities will be invited to attend the Award Ceremony. Schindler will refund the expenses for the journey and the accommodation.

During the Award Ceremony, the following prize moneys will be awarded:

Students Awards:
€ 5,000 for the winner
€ 3,000 for second place
€ 2,000 for third place
€ 1,000 each for fourth and fifth places

Special Mentioning:

In addition to the winners, the jury may award special prizes to projects with particular merits.

Those universities who have pre-selected one of the 10 nominated projects automatically participate in the universities Award. They receive the following prizes:

€ 25,000 for the highest ranking project.
€ 15,000 - second highest ranking project
€ 10,000 - third highest ranking project
€ 5,000 - fourth and fifth highest ranking project

If there are e.g. only 3 pre-selected projects from 10 nominated universities, there will be only 3 prizes for the universities. The prize money for the universities will be forwarded directly to the research unit of the participating faculty.

Reminder: Only schools or universities which apply with a minimum 12 students for the Schindler Award and perform according to article 5 are eligible for the Universities Award.
