The task of the Schindler Award 2008 really challenged the participants. For their considerable efforts, the authors of the five winning projects receive cash prizes of EUR 5,000, 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 twice. Three schools' prizes totalling EUR 50,000 are awarded to faculties which incorporated the Award into their curricula, held lectures on the topic and participated with more than 12 students.

Students' Prize: 1st - 5th Prize
The five winners of the Schindler Award 2008 are coming from Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France and Finland.
First Prize: "Triangle"
Second Prize: "Vienna Carpet"
Third Prize: "Rough Sketch"
Forth Prize: "Border Line"
Fifth Prize: "All Together"
Schools' Prize
Prizes are also to be awarded to three of the ten schools represented by the nominated project teams. The schools' prizes recognise architectural institutions that participated in the Award by pre-judging projects from their school and integrating the topic of accessibility into their curricula.

Special Mentions
The jury made special mention of four projects which did not fulfil the requirements to be nominated but came up with new and interesting ideas about how to improve mobility for disabled people in urban spaces.
